No love, but plenty of friendships for The Bachelor's Alicia

Since leaving The Bachelor NZ, Alicia has got one year older, a new rescue cat and a new tattoo.

She says going on the reality show was an easy decision for her.

"I entered because I'm almost 30, all my friends are getting married and having babies. Despite all my animals, I am lonely, I am looking for my soulmate, I can't wait to share my life with someone and start that whole chapter."

The now 27-year-old brunette stood her ground on last night's episode, saying she made the last move on Jordan by giving him a gift, so it was his turn.

But he didn't, and that saw the animal-lover sent back to New Zealand.

She says she's happy she stuck to her guns, though, and even got a tattoo before leaving Hawaii that says 'no regrets'.

"I don't regret not approaching him at that last cocktail party. I wouldn't have changed a thing."

Though being on the show meant she got to leave the country for the first time, she says being on the show was "a journey in itself".

"I was sad to leave, mostly because Jordan didn't give us a chance, but I was glad to get home and see my animals, I did miss them a lot."

When asked if she gets recognised on the street she says she works shift work so doesn't "go out much".

"Plus I live in Te Awamutu."

Like the rest of the girls who've been sent home, she says she made some life-long friends.

"I knew, at the very least, I'd leave with some amazing friendships."
