On Monday night animal-lover Alicia was sent home, possibly due to her stubbornness, but did the final 10 learn a valuable lesson from the Te Awamutu-based brunette?
The episode started with a single date, and 32-year-old bachelor Jordan Mauger chose Erin to join him.
He chose the right girl for a sailing adventure, as she'd already dabbled -- unlike his unfortunate wakeboarding adventure in the early dates.
This is the first single date Erin has been on, leaving Gabs the only girl left on the show who hasn't been on one, despite being an early pick to take out the competition.
The pair bonded over travelling adventures, and decided to take a dip where a friendly sea turtle decided to join them.
A whale also decided to drop in on their romantic adventure, which Mauger then took as the perfect opportunity to plant a kiss on the unsuspecting blonde -- however, given how romantic the setting was, it's unlikely she would've minded.
The night went on, and the two settled down on the catamaran to watch a special fireworks display Mauger had set up for her, which naturally ended in more making-out, and eventually a rose.
Next up came the group date, where the ladies were warned to not get too comfortable.
Gabs was chosen for a group date for the 'fifth or sixth' time -- making her the self-proclaimed "queen of group dates".
It's no surprise this didn't take favour with those who weren't chosen to go.
The date entailed exploring a Hawaiian fruit and vegetable plantation -- a bit slower-paced than usual -- and then eating what they had picked.
He decided to take Rebecca away for some one-on-one time, seeing as it had been a while since their first date, but there was no kissing and no rose -- this didn't seem to faze or upset her though.
And like clockwork, it was time for the cocktail party, and with only 10 girls left in the house, it got more intimate and more awkward between contestants.
The girls began to pick their moments to take Mauger aside.
When it was Storm's turn, she burst into tears, uncertain about her future on the show.
"I don't know him and he doesn't know me. I don't feel like I'm getting what I need from this situation," she cried to the confession cam.
Reality began kicking in from that point onwards, as the rose ceremony was looming.
And after giving roses to nine of the ladies, one had to go home, and 10 episodes in, Shari was this weeks' victim -- foreshadowed in their one-on-one time at the cocktail party, Mauger insinuating she was maybe a bit too much of a jokester and not serious enough.
At this stage of the show it's clear the girls have all formed a tight bond, and they were all sad to see her go.
Viewers may not have been surprised, however: the 24-year-old was snapped on dating app Tinder over the weekend.
In the wake of her elimination airing, Shari tweeted "back to tinder?", much to the amusement of fans who were happy to see she hadn't lost her sense of humour, despite that being the only logical reason she was eliminated.
Not only was the brunette a house favourite, she also seemed to be one of the twitter's picks -- with many tweeting their sadness over her leaving the show, including fellow bachelorette, who's still in the running, Ceri.
However, Shari wasn't the only person to leave Hawaii -- host Mike Puru announced all of the girls would be jetting off to Brisbane to continue their adventure.
