The Bachelor NZ: Episode 12 recap

The Bachelor NZ got back on the horse, quite literally, on Tuesday. The episode kicked off with a group date on horseback -- which didn't end well last season, when eventual winner Matilda broke her arm.

Five of the eight remaining contestants were chosen for the date, with Ceri looking less than impressed at missing out.

An attempt to herd cows by horseback went awry when some of the girls couldn't manage to get their mounts to move at all.

After the ride, birthday girl Naz was whisked off for some one-on-one time with Jordan Mauger, and took the opportunity to tell the 32-year-old Bachelor she has a "major crush" on him.

That seemed to have the desired effect, and the two shared a kiss in a picturesque meadow at sunset.

Gabs finally got her turn at the single date next, and Ceri still wasn't happy, saying she felt like Jordan "owed" her a date.

"I don't want to sit around waiting for dates that aren't coming," she cried to the confession cam.

Unfortunately, Gabs is afraid of heights and the date involved a scenic helicopter ride.

Her determination to stick it out was rewarded though, with an intense dinner chat, a saucy spa and finally, a rose.

Meanwhile, Ceri told Naz she's hurt the Bachelor hasn't made an effort with her, and threatened to turn down a rose if offered one.

At the cocktail party, a bow-tie-wearing Bachelor planted himself between Ceri and Naz, only to be whisked away immediately by Erin.

Jordan later questioned Becs' motives for being on the show, after realising she is studying reality television at university.

"I'm not your subject matter, am I?" he asked, semi-jokingly.

"Gosh, no!" she exclaimed, but he remained unconvinced.

Ceri finally got the one-on-one time she so desperately wanted, and made her feelings clear.

"I'm a little bit disappointed in you, to be honest," she told Jordan, saying she was hurt at not being chosen for extra dates.

Naz and Becs were the last two left standing at the rose ceremony, and Naz received the final token.

"I'm gonna kill you," was her bizarre response -- how romantic!
