Last week, the New Zealand bachelor, Jordan Mauger, sent Rebecca and Sarah home from Queensland, leaving seven remaining contestants vying for his love.
One of those contestants, Ceri, wasn't shy about voicing her desire for more time with Mauger, so she was obviously stoked to be picked for the single date -- the other girls weren't as enthusiastic.
The pair went on a 'dream date' for Mauger -- cruising around in a classic car.
It didn't take long before the date began to go south, and the heavens opened up on them -- not really ideal when you're in a convertible with the top down. This didn't seem to faze the couple, who continued on their merry way; however for the second time, Ceri brought the rain with her.
Mauger blindsided Ceri with questions about children and the future, which the 24-year-old didn't really know how to answer.
It's possible the eight year age gap was going to become a bump in the road for any pending romance.
Next up, it was the group date. All the girls got to attend this time, and Mauger took them to Steve Irwin's wildlife park.
Last season, one of the bachelorettes had an interesting defecation situation with a koala, which most of the girls were probably hoping wouldn't happen to them.
The girls were treated to a number of exotic animal encounters, the highlight being the orphaned wombat and, of course, a koala.
However, though there wasn't any defecation this time, Kate managed to absorb the 'wet pee' smell of the koala.
Fleur was forced to confront her fear of birds with a big owl, much to Mauger's delight. However, it did earn her some one-on-one time, which materialised the first rose of the evening.
Then it was time for the cocktail party and it was the usual fight for Mauger's attention.
Ceri and Kate are the only ones in the kiss-free club, a group Ceri desperately wanted out of.
However, she was too late, and the ever-looming rose ceremony was upon them.
It seems that the connection between Ceri and Mauger wasn't mutual. She didn't receive a rose and was sent home.
And then there were six.
