Reg Grundy, creator of TV show Neighbours, has died age 92.

From Neighbours to Prisoner Cell Block H, Sons and Daughters and more than one huge game show, if you've never heard the name Reg Grundy, you'll have seen at least one of his programmes.

From Australia, his TV empire spanned the globe.

Today as his family confirmed his death at age 92, those he helped make stars paid tribute.

Jason Donovan tweeted:

Grundy started off in radio in Sydney in the 1950s with his show, Wheel of Fortune, which quickly transferred to TV.

He soon swapped jobs to behind the camera and hit show followed hit show. In a very rare interview, he said he'd loved it.

For the past 50 years Grundy and his wife have lived in Bermuda, but he remains as big as ever down under with his name now fondly used as rhyming slang for "underwear".

For six decades Grundy defined popular television. He leaves behind a huge legacy to the entertainment world.
