Actress and comedian Madeleine Sami is going to be taking the helm of the new season of Funny Girls.
The popular sketch-comedy show airs on TV3 and Sami says she's stoked to be joining the team as a director.
"I loved last season and I am a big fan of this talented group of writers," she says.
"It's great to be back at TV3 and I am very excited to be working with [producer] Bronwynn [Bakker], [actress] Rose [Matafeo], [actress] Laura [Daniels] and the rest of the team to bring this new season to life."
Sami says her favourite skits from the last season were Mum Money, Sister House, and Hey Bitch.
Production for Funny Girls' second season has just begun in Auckland. All of last season's core cast will be returning.
