The 12th annual Vodafone Pacific Music Awards have been held in south Auckland tonight, recognising talent in the Pacific music industry.

Vince Harder took out three awards tonight, winning Best Male and Best Urban Artist, as well as Best Producer, for his album Rare Vision. Stan Walker's hit 'Start Again', produced by Harder, was also recognised in the award for Best Producer.

Best Pacific Group went to trio Sol3 Mio for their album On Another Note, while Best Female went to Annie Grace.

Savage was awarded the NZ On Air Radio Airplay Award for his song 'Freaks' as well as a Special Recognition Award alongside Vika & Linda Bull.

The Manukau Institute of Technology Lifetime Achievement Award went to Pacific Underground and Mikey Mayz was recognised as the Most Promising Artist.

But the big award of the night, the Vodafone People's Choice Award for Best Pacific Artist, went to Ill Semantics. The award was decided on Thursday night by public vote.

Last year's awards were dominated by new artists while this year there was a mix of new artists and a resurgence of already-established groups.
