Video: Pikachu's extreme efforts to not get caught

It seems as if everyone is hunting for Pikachu at the moment, with the release of Pokémon Go.

So much so that it seems he's taken to jumping off a bridge to escape.

Instead of throwing pokéballs, the person dressed as Pikachu threw themselves 43 metres off the AJ Hackett Bungy just outside Queenstown.

The jump off the Kawarau Bridge is one of the area's biggest tourist attractions, with thrillseekers around the world willing to give it a go.

The Pokémon craze has reignited following the release of the mobile app earlier this month.

It places the user in an augmented reality where the virtual creatures appear in real life locations.

It's been released across the world, though for some it has led to Pokémon woe, with a number of injuries and run-ins with the law.
