Rhythm and Vines-goers will have no reason to be frustrated at the 2016 line-up, with Chance the Rapper and Rüfüs announced as headliners.
Critically acclaimed Chance will bring his brand of acid rap to Gisborne's Waiohika Estate, while Sydney indie dance trio Rüfüs will also grace the festival for the first time after garnering plenty of fans in New Zealand over the course of the year.
Los Angeles house artist ZHU will also feature at Rhythm and Vines, fresh from performing at the likes of Coachella and Lollapalooza in 2016.
A strong hip-hop presence at this year's festival sees it branch out from its electronic roots, with US rap artists Denzel Curry and Goldlink also strong billings on the line-up.
That doesn't mean Rhythm and Vines has let its slew of EDM fans down though, with iconic alternative dance group Hot Chip, Dusky, S.P.Y and Skream all announced to bring in the new year.
Returning to the festival again this year, Netsky and Wilkinson will appease Rhythm's drum and bass aficionados, while AC Slater and Getter will bring the noise for the festival's trap, bass and dubstep devotees.
P Money, Savage, The Jordan Luck Band and Three Houses Down are the top local acts on the billing, completing what festival founder Hamish Pinkham calls a "truly cutting edge line-up".
Mr Pinkham says the festival is entering "a new and exciting phase" that will see more onsite camping activities and food and drink options.
