Video: Auckland student wows audience with her rendition of 'Crazy'

A student from Aorere College who floored audiences with her performance of Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy' will be performing in an Auckland-wide school talent quest next week.

A video of Irene Folau's performance from the Stand Up Stand Out competition's semi-finals has proven popular online, with more than 80,000 views on Facebook.

Irene is the defending champion of the competition and sang the song at the Otara Music and Arts Centre on Monday night.

Stand Up Stand Out is a music and dance competition presented by Auckland Council, which gives secondary school students a chance to showcase their skills on stage.

The competition provides students with recording opportunities for original compositions performed in heats, master class mentoring sessions. Students can also develop their performance skills through Auckland Council-sponsored events and festivals.

The final will be held at the Vodafone Events Centre on August 26.
