Burger King has dressed up as a ghostly McDonalds for Halloween at its restaurant in Queens, New York.

The store has been covered in a giant plastic sheet to look like a ghost, complete with spray-painted golden arches. It was lit up at night, with fake smoke pouring along the ground.

Customers received burger boxes masked with the McDonald's name, but inside the boxes and at a sign underneath the ghost covering outside was the message: "Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers."

Burger King posted a video of the prank to YouTube and it has been shared across Twitter.

McDonald's has yet to retaliate.
