Hip-hop group The Beastie Boys have called upon their fans to take a stand against hateful messages, after a park dedicated to the group's founding member Adam Yauch was graffitied.
Swastikas were spraypainted across Brooklyn's Adam Yauch Park and a "Go Trump" message was also found.
The Beastie Boys tweeted that hate has "no place" in the US.
The park, which holds a playground and basketball court, quickly covered up the hateful messages.
Local police have said they are investigating the issue alongside the New York Parks Department.
The office of New York City mayor Bill de Blasio also tweeted support for the event, saying "Adam Yauch stood for tolerance", and encouraged those who see acts of hate or vandalism being committed to call 911.
Adam Yauch died of cancer in May 2012 and Palmetto Park was renamed to honour the singer in 2013.
