A half-hour video of Soundgarden performing at a record store in the 1980s has emerged on YouTube.

The show, shot on an aging VHS tape, shows an early line-up of the group performing soon-to-be classics like 'Big Dumb Sex'.

According to the uploader the gig took place on September 25, 1989 in Los Angeles. The band's second album Louder than Love had just hit stores.

It would another two years before Soundgarden hit the bigtime with Badmotorfinger, which hit the top 40 as Nirvana took grunge mainstream.

Jason Everman, who previously was a member of Nirvana, can be seen standing to singer Chris Cornell's left, on bass. Everman was fired soon after.
