David Bowie and Adele have been voted the UK's most popular musicians in a new poll.

Bowie, who died at 69 in January this year, topped the list of male musicians that included the likes of Ed Sheeran, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, reports NME.

Adele came out as the nation's favourite female singer, beating other popular artists including Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Madonna.

Two thousand Brits were asked for their favourite male and female musicians, and to rank their favourite actors.
