Camila Cabello has claimed she found out she was out of Fifth Harmony the same time the group's fans did.
The X Factor girl band took to social media on Monday to say they would continue as a four-piece, just hours after completing a performance at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball.
Cabello has taken to Twitter to break her silence on the matter, insisting she didn't intend to end things this way.
"I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing," she says.
"The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much-needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was 'leaving the group' is simply not true."
Simon Cowell put Cabello together with former bandmates Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui on the popular talent show in 2012.
In addition to two top-five albums and a top-five single with Fifth Harmony, Cabello has two hits outside the group - 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' with Shawn Mendes and her current Machine Gun Kelly duet 'Bad Things'.
"Just like the other girls said in their statement about their plans, I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavours in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way," says Cabello.
"As sad as it is to see this chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group, I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness."
Cabello's exiting the group came just days after another member, Lauren Jauregui, got into trouble for having cannabis on her possession at an airport.
