Celebrities rally against Trump with marches, singing

Following on from Meryl Streep's hotly debated Golden Globes speech, more celebrities are rallying against President-elect Donald Trump before he enters the White House.

With the inauguration just over a week away, a group of Hollywood actors have created a video for W magazine that sees them covering Gloria Gaynor's 1978 disco classic 'I Will Survive' in reference to the imminent presidency.

Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Amy Adams, Taraji P. Henson, Chris Pine, Matthew McConaughey and Hailee Steinfeld are among the singers, each bringing a different style - some speaking sombrely, others comically theatrical.

It's not the only group of famous entertainers speaking out against Trump this week.

Katy Perry, Cher, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Schumer, Julianne Moore, Olivia Wilde, and Chelsea Handler are among another group who will participate in a Women's March on Washington event, scheduled for the day after the inauguration.

GLAAD, Planned Parenthood and Amnesty International are among the organisations helping to orchestrate the march, which will also feature America Ferrera.

"Since the election, so many fear that their voices will go unheard," says Ferrera.

"As artists, women, and most importantly dedicated Americans, it is critical that we stand together in solidarity for the protection, dignity and rights of our communities. Immigrant rights, worker rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, racial justice and environmental rights are not special interests, they affect us all and should be every American's concern."

Meanwhile, rapper Snoop Dogg has issued a stern warning on Instagram to any black entertainers who may perform for Trump.

"Which one of you jiggaboo-ass n**gas will be the first one to do it?" asks the 'Gin & Juice' hitmaker.

"I'm going to roast the f**k out of you Uncle Tom-ass n**gas."
