Extra Adele tickets available for sold out Auckland shows

Extra tickets to all three Adele shows in Auckland are going on sale today, across all price categories.

Promoter Live Nation says that after reviewing the seating map at Mt Smart Stadium, additional capacity has been discovered.

The British singing superstar sold out her first two New Zealand shows in minutes in November, and tickets to a third went in half-an-hour.

An additional 15,000 tickets went on sale in December with the announcement of a temporary extra stand at the venue's north bank. They too were snapped up quickly, leaving only pricey VIP packages and scalper tickets.

But the fans who missed out are being given another chance.

"Quite often this happens with a show - when the production has been fine-tuned, they've worked out the staging, the sight-lines and all that kind of thing, new tickets can be freed up," says Bridget de Launay, publicist for the concerts.

"We've been working very stringently with the production team and Live Nation, in consultation with management. We realise there's demand for more tickets and a fourth show is not possible, so they've worked to free up some space so more people can see Adele live in concert."

Additional tickets across all price categories including the premium Golden Circle have also been made available for each of the Australian tour dates also.

The new tickets to Adele's Auckland gigs go on sale today at 12pm.
