Loki, Doctor Strange face-off teased by Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston, the actor who plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has hinted that Doctor Strange may use his powers to bring Odin back to power.

At the Golden Globes ceremony yesterday, where he won an acting award for his role in The Night Manager, Hiddleston commented on the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok to MTV News.

Both Loki and Doctor Strange will feature in the film, which is directed by Taika Waititi, and their meeting is an event eagerly anticipated by fans.

"Doctor Strange has very intensely, cerebral, time-bending powers," Hiddleston says.

"At the end of Thor: The Dark World, Loki is on the throne. What happened to Odin? Maybe Doctor Strange has to help out with that particular conundrum."

Exactly what happened to Odin in the second Thor film does remain a mystery.

In the closing credits of Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch's hero meets Thor, who is asking for help in relation to Loki - leaving fans itching to see a showdown.

"Meeting a handful of times in the Golden Age of Comics, it makes sense to have Strange meet Loki in the movies in some way too," says Marvel expert Jordan Tini.

"The Sorcerer Supreme versus the Master of Mischief would be incredible to watch, especially after how well they presented the magic of Strange in his own film."

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in November.
