Selena Gomez teases new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why

Selena Gomez has shared a first look at the upcoming Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which she is co-producing with her mother.

She posted the short video to Instagram, calling the series "a passion project".

The series is based on the 2007 young adult novel of the same name by Jay Asher, which follows a group of teenagers in the wake of their classmate Hannah's suicide.

One of them, Clay (Dylan Minnette), receives a box of cassette tapes from Hannah (Katherine Langford).

On the tapes, Hannah explains the 13 reasons why she committed suicide, suggesting bullying was to blame.

"Maybe I'll never know why you did what you did," she says in a Netflix-released trailer.

"But I can make you understand how it felt. If you want to know the truth, just press play."

13 Reasons Why is due to hit Netflix on March 31.
