Young artist releases Harry Potter-themed rap

The fantasy franchise that defined a generation has been taken to the stage, the screen and now the streets, with a rap version of Harry Potter released by Antwerp-based rapper Noah Mavuley.

The 16-year-old Begian artist, also known as Yung Mavu, wrote the track initially as a joke; but after it took off on social media, he decided to create a full length track.

The song has now had over a million views on Youtube.

His song 'Black Magic' includes references to Dumbledore, the flying car from Chamber of Secrets and several spells.

Mavu takes on the role of Potter himself with lyrics like "and I'm the best at magic and I'm friends with Hagrid, I don't care about fame but now I have to grab it".

Decked out in a Gryffindor scarf, a wand, and shades, Mavu dances in a subway tunnel to the remix of 'Hedwig's Theme' by John Williams, the main Harry Potter song.  The tunnel itself recalls the scene from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban where Harry and Dudley run from the Dementors.
