It appears that long-awaited new music from Lorde might finally be on the way.

Screen shots purportedly from her record company Republic Records' website shows new material from the Kiwi artist is due to be released on March 7.

The album, the title of which is being kept a secret, is included on the listening agenda for a Republic meeting next week, alongside forthcoming material from Ariana Grande.

It's not known whether the release will be a full album or a single.

Republic Records already reportedly held a listening party in Los Angeles last Friday night (local time) with music critics seeming impressed by what they'd heard.

Lorde was also rumoured to have been shooting a music video that weekend.

The 20-year-old has been teasing new music for months, posting a picture of her earbuds to Twitter in November saying, "[I] listen to the record on these every day. wanna hear it exactly how you will."

It's been three-and-a-half years since her debut album, Pure Heroine, topped charts worldwide, rocketing the Aucklander to fame.

She is scheduled to play at Coachella on April 16 and 23, which is seen as a surefire sign she'll have new music to debut by then.
