Kiwi Tape Face slated for 'disgusting' and 'unfunny' TV skit

New Zealander Sam Willis, who wowed US crowds last year with his performances as Tape Face on America's Got Talent, has been lambasted for a routine on prominent British television show This Morning.

The 38-year-old drew derision from a number of social media users, some of whom described him as "a waste of air time" and labelled his performance "unfunny and pointless".

Tape Face's skit on This Morning involved him dancing with a red cape draped over his right arm - which was meant to represent a woman - before later grabbing her rear, which happened to be where his own genitals were located.

Willis was also heavily criticised for what appeared to be a two-fingered gesture to the camera, which was seen as offensive by many who had tuned in to watch the show.

One Twitter user even interpreted that as him telling "the whole of England to f off [sic]".

The Canterbury-raised mime artist made it to the finals of America's Got Talent after a hotly contested fan vote, and now has close to 100,000 followers on Twitter after his performances on the talent show.

And not everyone found his This Morning performance awful - with several taking to the social media platform to laud him for his televised skit.
