Newshub reporters butt heads in Family Feud

Newshub's entertainment editor Kate Rodger and sports reporter Shaun Summerfield have gone head-to-head on Wednesday night's Celebrity Family Feud NZ - all in the name of charity.

Rodger competed with her partner, Tristan, sister-in-law Mandy and her sister's boyfriend, Mike, supporting Fostering Kids NZ.

Team Summerfield was Shaun and his wife, Caroline, and brothers Jimmy and Adain, supporting the Special Olympics.

The heated competition kicked off with the team captains going head-to-head, Rodger trying to unnerve Summerfield at the start with a steely glare - to little effect.

Both teams managed to blow their chances at the first few questions, Summerfield settling the first two questions with steals.

Rodger managed to take back pole position with the third question, after Summerfield failed to pick the answer his wife suggested, which could have further extended his lead.

It all came down to the triple bonus round, Rodger's team quickly clearing the board one at a time and racking up the points while they were at it.

But they failed to pull it out at the end, leaving Summerfield victorious with one final steal.

Rodger didn't have to leave empty-handed, winning $2000 for the Fostering Kids NZ charity.

Pulling through to take out a tense final Fast Money challenge, Summerfield went home with $9030 for the Special Olympics.
