While cannabis laws continue to be relaxed in the US, music festivals like Coachella continue to ban marijuana - but weed-loving punters this year have no need to fear.

Less than 10km from the Californian festival, a 'Marijuana Oasis' is being set up to legally supply cannabis products to revellers.

And they're giving the pot away for free.

The location will reportedly include two grow houses, a greenhouse and five geodesic domes each offering a different marijuana experience such as edibles, vaping and bog-standard smoking.

Since November 2016, California allows people aged 21 or older to carry up to an ounce of marijuana for personal use and to grow up to six plants per household.

WeedMaps, a popular app that helps users find marijuana dispensaries, has set up the Coachella Marijuana Oasis along with marketing firm Talent Resources.

The cannabis products will be provided by companies GenX, Brass Knuckle and West Coast Cure and are said to be given away at no cost to VIP guests.

The 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California from April 14-16 and April 21-23.
