Couple's dream engagement becomes reality on The Edge

A groom-to-be's long-awaited proposal has finally been realised in epic style, making a dream come true for he and his fiancé.

Stefan Loversidge and Nicole James-Rundle had been in a 10-year relationship, during which time they'd welcomed a child together, but had yet to get engaged.

Marking the occasion in style with thanks to The Edge radio station, the couple were treated to limousine and helicopter rides to a luxurious Matakana vineyard and lodge, where Mitch James provided live music in area decorated with candles and photos from the couple's history together.

Proposals can be nerve-wracking occasions - Loversidge had the ring for three years, admitting he's been too scared to actually ask the question.

"Listen to me carefully," host Jay-Jay Feeny dramatically told a nervous Loversidge on-air.

"The proposal is extremely important. It will be the story you have for the rest of your life. Stefan leave it with us and I promise you, we will make it a proposal she will never forget.

The Edge says it's the most elaborate proposal they've ever put together, outdoing one they pulled off at Mt Smart Stadium last year.
