Kiwi songstress Lorde has starred in a remake of her hit new song 'Green Light' - and the new version features lyrics that celebrate the Aucklander's adoration of a classic Easter treat.

The 20-year-old has expressed her love for Cadbury Creme Eggs before, earlier this month informing her 4.64 million Twitter followers that she will be eating the chocolate delicacy in a short while.

Now in an interview with Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, Lorde has taken her love of the Creme Egg to the next level with a twist on the first single from the upcoming album Melodrama, 'Green Light'.

While there was some initial hesitation at Lorde's end to actually take on the Creme Egg-themed track, she jumped into it with aplomb after noting that the lyrics were "quite good".

Once the backing track started, it was as though Lorde was performing the original on stage - her voice was impeccable and Grimshaw was quick to note just how good she sounded.

"The white cream, it tastes so sweet. When you bite it, thought you said that you would never make a mess - but now there's egg on your face," she sang.

"Does it frighten you, that you seem to always want just one more?" Grimshaw followed, as Lorde struggled not to laugh.

"But I have egg on my mind - all the eggs in my mind. But on the aisle, look out for them wherever I go! But on the aisle, search every shop, down every road!

"I'm waiting for it, that Creme Egg, I want it!"

Later on Tuesday (local time), Lorde posted a photo of her posing with her beloved egg on Facebook.
