Alice Cooper returning to New Zealand

Alice Cooper (Cooper)

Alice Cooper, the granddaddy of shock rock, is returning to New Zealand, 40 years after his first tour here.

The 'Poison' hitmaker has announced concerts in Auckland and Wellington in October.

Cooper will be supported by KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, who will perform a 60-minute set complete with his smoking guitar.

It's the 13th tour of Aotearoa for Cooper, who is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with multiple gold and platinum albums and countless honours and career achievement awards.

He has spent almost 50 years touring the world, releasing 26 Studio Albums, selling more than 50 million albums in the US alone and pioneering theatrical rock shows.

Alice Cooper tour dates:

  • Friday, October 27 - Trusts Stadium, Auckland
  • Saturday, October 28 - TSB Bank Arena, Wellington

Tickets to the general public go on sale April 28.
