The Foo Fighters, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are among 102 artists and producers who autographed an acoustic guitar which is being raffled to raise funds for Planned Parenthood.

The organisation is similar to New Zealand's Family Planning and provides sexual health care in the US, but has been threatened by the Trump administration for providing abortion services.

Tom Petty, Sia, Sam Smith, Ryan Adams and Michael Stipe have also signed the guitar, touted as a "once-in-a-lifetime piece of musical history", for the 7 Inches for Planned Parenthood campaign.

"Spurred into action by the November 2016 Presidential election, and the alarming assault on Planned Parenthood and other organisations, Reuben Cox, owner of Old Style in Los Angeles, spent the next five months inviting a diverse collection of musicians, artists and music industry luminaries, to autograph it for an eventual fundraising campaign for Planned Parenthood," the campaign says.

"By the time he had completed the project the guitar had been covered with over 100 signatures. The signed guitar is also a reflection of a group of concerned, like-minded artists at an important crossroad in American history."

Other artists to sign the guitar include John Legend, Arcade Fire, Sia, Danny Elfman, Kim Gordon, Henry Rollins, The National, Josh Homme, Mark Ronson, Arctic Monkeys, Ty Segall, Charlie Puth, Interpol, Gus Van Sant, Pixies, Hudson Mohawke, Florence Welch, Feist, Mars Volta and Nancy Sinatra.
