Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, affectionally known as 'Bennifer' in the early 2000s, are ready to officially file for divorce, after nearly two years of separation.

The couple who were married for ten years announced in 2015 they were splitting, amongst rumours Affleck had been unfaithful.

The famous pair have been vocal about remaining friendly, whilst co-parenting the three children.

"Their relationship is very fluid and nothing has really changed," a family friend told E! News back in March.

"They have been working at their relationship for the past few years."

When the separation was first announced, the couple put on a united front in their joint statement.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," the stars wrote. "This will be our only comment on this private family matter. Thank you for understanding."

TMZ reported that the couple is currently in the midst of negotiating a financial settlement, with the divorce possibly being finalised in as little as six months.
