'Incredibly shocking' teen rape drama Three Girls sickens viewers

Viewers of a BBC drama on teen grooming have taken to social media to share their shock, with some saying they had to turn it off.

Three Girls is based on a 2012 true story of three teenaged girls who were lured into a sexual abuse hell by a gang of men in Rochdale in the UK.

"Have to stop watching - it's too disgraceful, awful, terrible and still happening somewhere," wrote one Twitter user.

"#ThreeGirls an incredible watch. Traumatic and difficult to see. Brilliantly told from the perspective of the victims," said another.

Three Girls is a three-part drama created with consent and stories from three girls who are survivors of the abuse. The final episode is broadcast in the UK on Thursday night (local time).
