NZ Film Festival announces Spookers, Kim Dotcom, Helen Clark documentaries

Documentaries on Kim Dotcom, Helen Clark and Spookers have been announced for the 2016 New Zealand Film Festival (NZIFF).

Kim Dotcom: Caught in the Web will screen for Kiwi audiences after its showings at SXSW and Hot Docs, where Florian Habicht's Spookers - about the popular south Auckland horror attraction - also played.

Gaylene Preston's My Year With Helen had unique access to the former Prime Minister, casting a wry eye on proceedings as the UN chose a new Secretary-General.

"It's proving to be a great year for New Zealand documentaries and we're very happy to lead off our announcements with three of the best," says NZIFF director Bill Gosden.

"All three of these films will have made their international debuts before we have the pleasure of welcoming them home."

Other films in the first announcement for this year's festival include The Lost City of Z, Lady MacBeth, A Ghost Story and The Untamed.

More information is available at the official New Zealand Film Festival website.
