Despite her calm demeanour and easy smile, Sarah has been one of the more controversial Bachelorettes on this season of The Bachelor. One of the late intruders into the house and the only one to leave of her own accord, Sarah is the latest to exit the Bachelor abode.
The believer in "lust at first sight" said she realised it was time to make a graceful exit when she was spending some alone time with Zac after the last group date.
Despite the romantic location of the secluded beach, the 28-year-old said it was a tipping point.
"I could see that he was putting out all his feelings on the table and I was struggling to do the same back to him."
Another driving factor in her decision to leave was the struggle of living in a house with a group of "cliquey" girls, a situation Sarah says she wasn't prepared for.
"I felt like they felt like they were on a school camp and we came in late to that school camp. It wasn't what I was expecting."
"I was feeling something there towards Zac, but it was definitely the situation I was in."
The Christchurch based earthquake claims technician also struggled with the rules and regulations of being on a reality television show.
"I think everyone felt that it was quite strange, you're on someone else's time," she recounted.
"I don't like being told what to do."
Despite it being her time to leave Bach life, Sarah says she's not shutting herself off to finding that special someone - but in classic Sarah fashion she's staying reserved about it.
"I'm open to it - I'm not looking because otherwise you get disappointed. But I'm ready."
