Trailer released for TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist

If you're a fan of Stephen King then you're in for a treat - 1980 novel The Mist is getting a TV adaptation and the trailer teases a fast-paced horror feast.

The Mist takes place in a small Maine town that is struck by a mysterious fog, carrying with it a nightmare of terrifying creatures and other horrors.

The novel is set in one location - a supermarket. But Danish director Christian Torpe decided he wanted to make this adaptation more interesting, so it is likely that it will respectfully differ from the original novel and the 2007 movie, which was directed by Frank Darabont.

The 2017 series doesn't look to have any big stars apart from Australian born Alyssa Sutherland, who may be familiar to fans of the show Vikings.

The show airs on the US network Spike on June 22. Its New Zealand released date is currently unknown.
