Stars of the US series of The Bachelor Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnel have called it quits.
The couple met on the 20th season of show which aired in 2016. Higgins, 29, ultimately offered his final rose and proposed to Bushnell, 27, but not without controversy after he told both finalists, Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher, that he loved them during the 'fantasy date' episode.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways," Higgins and Bushnell told People in a statement.
"We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time."
The couple got engaged on the season finale, moved in together in April and then launched into an eight-episode docu-series, Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After, that aired in the United States in October and November.
They revealed to People in October that they were going through couples counselling through their church.
