Would President Rock replace President Trump? Survey says yes

A new poll of US citizens has Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson body slamming Donald Trump in presidential popularity stakes.

The Fast & Furious star recently confirmed his running in the 2020 election was "a real possibility".

Johnson, aka The People's Champion, is beating the former Celebrity Apprentice host 42 to 37 in a Public Policy Polling survey asking respondents who they'd vote for in a 2020 presidential contest.

The majority of both Democrats (38/15) and Republicans (31/17) see Johnson positively. Meanwhile, the poll indicates 40 percent of voters approve of the job Trump is currently doing, with 54 percent disapproving - so he still has room before hitting rock bottom.

For the first time there are more voters in favour of impeaching Trump (48 percent) than there are against it (41 percent), with only 43 percent believing the real estate tycoon will make it through the entirety of his first term.

Dwayne Johnson's latest film, Baywatch, is in New Zealand cinemas next week.
