Actor Brad Pitt took the children of recently deceased singer Chris Cornell to Los Angeles theme park Universal Studios on Wednesday (local time).

The Fight Club actor, 53, along with Cornells Toni, 12, and Christopher, 11, were snapped by photographers as they enjoyed rides and merchandise a fortnight after the rocker's death.

Pitt and Cornell were reportedly close friends for several years, with the actor also photographed at the Soundgarden frontman's funeral last week.

Cornell died by way of suicide on May 18 in a Detroit hotel following a concert in the city.

Although none of Pitt's children from his relationship with estranged wife Angelina Jolie joined the group at Universal Studios, they were accompanied by bodyguards.

Photos showed Pitt and the kids riding the Jurassic Park ride and visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area, with the Cornell kids carrying wands and sipping drinks from souvenir butterbeer mugs.
