Is this the Kiwi anthem to take on the Lions?

  • 01/06/2017

We're about to be inundated with thousands of Poms, all proudly singing or chanting the song of their people, for the Lions tour.

'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' will be ringing across the country - and we need to drown them out with an anthem of our own.

Chanting "All Blacks" and thumping our feet over and over doesn't quite cut it. So Three's The Project is proposing a song most people already know: 'Tūtira Mai' (Stand Together)

It's been drummed into to all Kiwis from childhood and it's catchy enough to drown out the enemies in a stadium.

And more importantly, it'll help our boys in black.

"As a player, it gives you a huge boost when you hear the crowd singing songs or even chanting," All Blacks flanker Jerome Kaino told The Project.

"For us after the World Cup, singing that song was what connected us back to our fans and our people back home."

To help motivate everyone, a number of MediaWorks personalities have banded together to show how great our new stadium song could be.
