Kiwi actress Anna Paquin has paid tribute to her deceased True Blood co-star with an emotional social media post.
Nelsan Ellis, who played Lafayette Reynolds on the HBO hit drama, passed away last week aged 39.
He died on Saturday (local time) from complications of heart failure, according to a statement from his manager.
Paquin posted on Twitter that she was "devastated by his untimely death".
"It was an utter privilege to work with the phenomenally talented and deeply kind soul" the star of The Piano added.
She then turned to Instagram to pen a longer tribute to her co-star.
"I've been looking for pictures of our #trueblood family that I feel truly represent how important and loved Nelsan was to us all both creatively and as a human and I literally can't find one where he is front and centre or in any way claiming the spotlight he deserved and belonged in." she said.
"But that's because that beautiful, gifted man was also the most humble artist I've ever had the pleasure of knowing or working with."
Paquin's husband Stephen Moyer, also a True Blood star, is one of the other celebrities paying tribute to Ellis on social media.
