French singer Barbara Weldens has died suddenly while performing onstage during a concert in the village of Goudron on Wednesday night (local time).

The cause of her death has not yet been determined, but it's suspected to be electrocution. She was reportedly performing barefoot with storms in the area, and investigators were looking at electrical equipment on the stage to find out what caused the apparent electrical fault.

Weldens was performing as part of the Léo Ferré Festival when she collapsed, according to reports, and emergency services were unable to revive her.

She released her first album, Le Grand H de l'homme, in February this year to national acclaim in France and was set to perform across France and Belgium over the coming months.

Weldens was 35 when she died.
