In a highly unexpected twist, singer and rapper Iggy Azalea may be collaborating with her previous arch enemy Azealia Banks

The 'Fancy' rapper announced the news to her shocked fans on Snapchat today.

"Public service announcement. Azealia is going to be on DD. We are collaborating. Burn your wigs now or preserve them in your freezer for release day."

The two singers have had beef for years, but their feud hit a new low last year, when Banks publicly accused the white Australian of cultural appropriation. "No one is talking about you so you choose to mention me...," the '212' star wrote. "Wrong move hoe... Mentioning me is the only thing that will get you attention. Because ur (sic) music and nose job are trash", she continued, slamming Iggy's plastic surgery.

Now it appears they've buried the hatchet, and will feature together on a track on Azalea's new album.

At the news of the collaboration, Twitter promptly exploded. One shocked fan tweeted "I mean, she made your life hell... now you're going to help her? Gahhh."

Another wrote "I've decided to unstan iggy. Bye bitch. You made a massive mistake,", to which Azalea replied "If you can't understand my desire to turn YEARS worth of negativity into a positive interaction then that's your loss my dear. Peace!"

Azalea continued to defend herself, tweeting. "I dont expect you guys to understand why i would collaborate with someone who has publicly said they hope i die (sic).

"This has been something extremely negative for so long, if there is a way to make it positive and also be creative together, im here for it."

Azalea's new album was teased for release at the end of June, but so far there has been no confirmed release date.
