Katie Holmes and Cuba Gooding Jr are the latest stars to appear in an Air New Zealand safety video.

The airline has always taken its safety videos seriously - collectively, they've had more than 108 million views online.

Released on Wednesday, the video entitled 'A Fantastical Journey' shows a number of iconic locations throughout New Zealand including the Southern Alps, the Moeraki Boulders, White Island and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Kiwi singer-songwriter Gin Wigmore recorded her own unique version of the song 'My Little Corner of the World' as the backing track for the video.

Gooding Jr raved about Wigmore's contribution, saying her iconic raspy voice was perfect for the video.

"Her voice is enchanting and soothing, exactly what you need for safety video," he said.

Holmes said she was "really excited to be a part of this project" alongside Gooding Jr and the Air New Zealand crew.

"The safety video is creative, magical and funny. The scenery is also beautiful and makes me want to get down to New Zealand!" she said.

Previous Air New Zealand safety videos have featured celebrities like Olympian Eliza McCartney, Game of Thrones actor Joe Naufahu and comedian Rhys Darby.

'A Fantastical Journey' will be rolled out across the airline's fleet from Wednesday.
