Kim Kardashian squashes cocaine scandal with Snapchat video

After hours of cocaine scandal, Kim Kardashian has finally posted a credible explanation for those two white lines.

The reality TV star posted a selfie video on Snapchat showing off some new shopping, sporting the classic flower crown filter.

But what really caught the attention of many a social media user was what appeared to be two carefully cut white lines on the counter behind her, in what appeared to be a perfect snorting position.

"Why is there two lines on the table behind you @KimKardashian mate?" one Twitter user wrote, while another pointed out, "Surely that isn't two lines in the background?"

As the accusations began flying around, Kardashian took to Twitter to deny the that drugs featured in her video.

"I do not play with rumours like this so I'm gonna shut it down real quick," the 36-year-old wrote.

"That's sugar from our candy mess from dylan's candy shop."

She also quickly deleted the Snap story.

Other news outlets jumped to Kardashian's defence, saying the sugar excuse was "fair enough", given Kardashian was spotted out with her young daughter North West at US candy store chain Dylan's Candy shope on July 9.

"The candy thing checks out. She's in NYC, and Sunday she took North shopping for sweets." TMZ wrote.

Metro suggested the wife of Kanye West was the "responsible" member of the Kardashian clan, citing her previous claims that said she never consumes drugs or alcohol - despite downing tequila shots on Instagram recently.

Now, Kardashian appears to gave squashed the cocaine rumours once and for all, posting a new video online revealing the alleged lines to be marks on the white grain in the marble countertop behind her.

"OMG you guys!!! Check my snap chats or insta stories I'm crying!!! That was not candy on my table! The table was marble this whole time!" she wrote in a post.

The new footage zooms in on the countertop and the pattern becomes clear.

Chrissy Teigen chipped in with her own two cents about the saga, joking: "what kind of coke head lines up the drugs and just... doesn't do them".
