Shia LaBeouf has issued a public apology for his latest expletive-filled rant at police officers who arrested him over the weekend, saying he's taking steps to get his alcohol problems under control.
Police videos of the Transformers star posted online this week show the 31-year-old calling officers "stupid bitch", "dumb f**k", along with language slammed as racist and even a deadly threat.
"If I had my gun I'll blow your sh*t up... You put your own kind in the f**king pen, for nothing. You put a white man in the pen," LaBeouf raged after being charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
He posted an image of his statement on Twitter on Thursday (NZ time), saying he was "deeply ashamed" of his behaviour.
"My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst... It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom," says the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star.
"I have been struggling with addiction publicly for too long, and I am actively taking steps toward securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes."
LaBeouf returned to the set of a new movie he is shooting in Savannah, Georgia on Monday (local time) after being released on bail.
