The magic isn't over yet for the Harry Potter series, with the first of the films brought to life once more - this time, with a live orchestra backing.
It's the first time the Harry Potter Film Concert Series has come to New Zealand, with shows in Auckland and Christchurch.
The Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra performed live alongside a showing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, letting residents in the two cities sit back and enjoy John Williams' iconic score.
It's been just over a year since the concert series was launched overseas.
Justin Freer, the producer and conductor, praised it as an "unforgettable event".
"The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world," he said.
"It is with great pleasure that we introduce for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen."
