Video: Slipknot fan gets head banged for real

A Slipknot fan took things further than he intended to during a recent gig in the UK, with footage showing him accidentally bashing himself in the head with a bat.

The video was taken during the Sixfields Rock Festival over the weekend, where cover band Slipknowt was performing.

Clown, who imitates Slipknot member Shawn Crahan, jumps from the stage during the track 'Duality' with a metal keg that is banged with a wooden club for percussion.

An audience member begins occasionally hitting the keg in time with the song and is joined by a uniformed police officer who hits the keg with his baton.

Another enthusiastic fan runs up to join in the fun and things take a turn for the sorely unexpected as he bashes the keg, but the baton bounces back and smacks him right in the noggin.

The police officer seems unperturbed with the unintentional head-banging, simply continuing to hit the keg with his baton.

A colleague of his told media of the police's involvement with the performance, "The crowd loved it.

"It just showed that human side to us, rather than us standing there with our arms crossed. I think it’s nice for them to see that we are there to enjoy it and to look after them."

The guy who got hit in the head doesn't take long to get up himself and also continue hitting the keg - albeit with a nasty welt on his forehead.
