Almost a decade after the last High School Musical movie was released, a fan-made trailer has hit the internet and set hearts all aflutter.
It picks up the stories of Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor 10 years after we last saw them, but if you wanted it to be a cheesy, loved-up burst of optimism, you're in for severe disappointment.
Set to a sombre, acoustic cover of High School Musical hit 'What I've Been Looking For', the trailer teases a fairly bleak, realistic look at the pains of becoming an adult, pieced together by using recent clips of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman.
The Once A Wildcat trailer is convincing, with the proper Disney logo and a legitimate looking credits screen, but it is indeed fake.
"We're living in a time of reboots and remakes and so I thought it would be fun to see what Troy and Gabriella have been doing these past 10 years," explains its creator, YouTuber hsmutube.
"Still wishing that one day they all come back to do a reunion movie."
One fan of the fan-made trailer is Tisdale, who apologised for making fans cry with it.
