The public has been asked for help in finding Scribe, who is wanted by police for drugs charges and failing to appear in court.

The 'Not Many' rapper should not be approached and has "several" warrants for his arrest outstanding, Canterbury Police said in a since-deleted post on its Facebook page.

There was a large number of comments from the public criticising the police for the post, however a spokesperson told Newshub they remove such appeals when they feel they have sufficient information.

The 38-year-old, real name Malo Ioane Luafutu, found fame in the early 2000s, his debut single 'Stand Up' winning Single of the Year at the 2004 New Zealand Music Awards. In its flipside, 'Not Many', the rapper coined the catchphrase "not many, if any".
