The director of Taylor Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' video has thrown fuel on the eternal fire of public debate around the singer's controversial music videos.

In an interview with the LA Times, Joseph Kahn responded to rumours that the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker previously copied Beyoncé's style by turning the tables and taking aim at Beyoncé's 'Formation' video.

"They try to say she's wearing a black crop top and Beyoncé wore a black crop top. But they don't realise in 2015, in 'Bad Blood', Taylor Swift was wearing a black crop top. I really do think, by the way, that Beyoncé copied 'Bad Blood'."

Predictably, Beyoncé's legion of fans did not take this lightly, with Twitter quickly set alight with backlash.

Kahn seemed fully aware of the likely response to his comments, even further goading the web by posting a link to an op-ed article discussing Beyoncé imitating other artists, with the caption: "Beyhive triggered".

This is the second time in as many weeks that Kahn has angered 'The Beyhive', after taunting it on September 1.
