Labour leader Jacinda Ardern is set to narrate an adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev's classic fairy tale Peter and the Wolf.
Adapted to reflect modern-day New Zealand, the symphonic fairy-tale production promises childhood memories reimagined, featuring Ms Ardern as part of a rotating cast of narrators during its one month run at Auckland's Herald Theatre.

Ms Ardern, who retains the arts, culture and heritage portfolio, will be joining a cast of industry luminaries, including Michael Hurst, Thomas Sainsbury, Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Rima Te Wiata, and Moana star Rachel House.
Director Sophie Roberts described how the story has been updated for Auckland now.
"The story will revolve around Peter moving from Russia to Westmere to live with his grandfather, where he struggles to fit in and make new friends," said Ms Roberts.
"When a wolf escapes from the zoo, Peter sees an opportunity to become a hero and joins forces with a motley crew of animals. Their adventure to capture the wolf takes them across Auckland City at night,"
The production will be running from Thursday, November 9 to Saturday, December 9.
