Perez Hilton defends comments saying Kylie Jenner 'should have an abortion'

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is speaking out in defence over his comments about Kylie Jenner's pregnancy, after receiving significant backlash for saying he'd tell her to have an abortion if he was her mother.

After news of Jenner's pregnancy broke over the weekend, the celebrity blogger posted a lengthy video on YouTube on Friday in which he said, "If I were Kris Jenner, I would tell that girl to get an abortion!"

Hilton, 39, also claimed that Kylie's relationship with boyfriend Travis Scott is "doomed" and that she wouldn't be a good mother.

"My heart goes out to that poor unborn child. But from a business point of view this is great for business. It's all sorts of crazy."

He added: "I just can't deal….Kris Jenner probably didn't even tell her to have an abortion."

Twitter promptly went into overdrive, with shocked fans condemning the blogger for his comments.

On Sunday morning (local time) he posted an almost eight-minute video, defending his stance.

"What I meant to say if I didn't say it accurately is that, if I were her mother, I would've told Kylie Jenner to get an abortion when they found out in July," Hilton said.

"I'm not saying get an abortion now -- I'm not saying get an abortion," he added.

"I would never say that to her. I'm not her dad or her mom, but if I were, that's what I would've said. And I would say the same thing to my daughter if she were to get pregnant under similar circumstances: her age, not a stable relationship, her just being totally unfit to be pregnant, in my opinion. And at the end of the day, my opinion is just that."
